Charting Student Progress with Purpose
At New LDR International School, we believe that assessments are not merely tests, but tools for growth, reflection, and academic refinement. Our carefully designed examination structure is aligned with CBSE standards and aims to track progress, identify strengths, and support continuous improvement throughout the academic year.
“Assessment is the engine that drives student learning.”
Term-Wise Assessment Structure
Our academic year is divided into two terms, each consisting of two key evaluation stages—Periodic Assessments (PA) and Summative Assessments (SA).
Term 1: Building Foundations
1. Periodic Assessment 1 (PA-1)
• Month: July
• Focus: Class tests, quizzes, oral work, assignments, and project-based learning
• Purpose: To assess early understanding and guide learning pathways
2. Summative Assessment 1 (SA-1)
• Month: September
• Syllabus: Full Term-1 syllabus
• Purpose: Cumulative evaluation of student performance in the first half of the academic year
Term 2: Deepening Understanding
3. Periodic Assessment 2 (PA-2)
• Month: December
• Focus: Mid-term review of concepts through written and activity-based tests
• Purpose: Midway check to recalibrate strategies for final performance
4. Summative Assessment 2 (SA-2)
• Month: March
• Syllabus: Complete Term-2 syllabus
• Purpose: Final assessment of the year to measure overall academic progress
Key Features of Our Assessment System
• Emphasis on concept clarity, not rote learning
• Balance of formative (continuous) and summative (final) evaluations
• Opportunities for self and peer assessment
• Inclusion of co-scholastic assessment (discipline, values, work habits)

Supporting Student Success
We ensure that parents are kept in the loop with regular updates, report cards, PTMs, and feedback sessions. This three-way partnership between the school, parents, and students helps ensure academic excellence and emotional well-being.
